As many of you know a few months ago I called the church to come and attend our first “Vision Impartation Night” where I gave an 11 point plan long term and short term for Gospel Of Power Church. This came about after a season of prayer and seeking the face of God for His direction. Number one on the list is for our church to have its own facility from where we can launch out all the other visions and ministries that God has laid upon our hearts. While praying about the this first vision of having, I asked the Lord how this was to be done, specifically concerning the finances, given that this would demand over and above income to our weekly tithes and offerings. As was imparted at our vision night the Lord took me to Exodus chapter 36, where Moses had been instructed by God to build the tabernacle and the resources and provision was to come from the people through a freewill offering. The Lord laid upon my heart that the way He got the job done then, is the way He desires to do it now and that it is through His people giving freely for the cause of Christ and in our case towards our Church vision. Then, as I said to the church at the vision night instructed me to challenge the church to rise up to the standards of God’s word and to do it His way. I communicated that we would do one freewill offering every two months where all the offering would go towards our first vision. The first offering date was set for Sunday 10th July. How I praise God as that night and the weeks following, people from the church were expectant, excited and even in some cases could not wait for the day to come in order to sow their financial seed.
Last Sunday, we as a church gave a corporate offering totalling $20,730. This truly was an amazing offering. I have been in church my whole life and it was the biggest single offering that I have seen received in any church that I have been involved with.
I appreciate your support and your love for this church and ministry. Your giving has shown a true spirit of partnership that will take us together towards achieving all that God has laid before us. There is no more encouraging sign for a Pastor than when He has planted a vision to the church that they all support not only in word but also in deed, and last week that is exactly what happen and for that I am grateful and say thank you. You can be sure that together with Erika we have and will continue to pray over every financial seed sown last Sunday, that multiplication in every area of life will come to you and your family.
Remember we are just beginning, and the best is yet to come, let’s continue strong in Jesus name. Amen.
