A year ago after a season of waiting, praying and preparation Gospel of Power Church officially began. With great anticipation we held our first service on Sunday March 7th 2010 not knowing exactly what to expect. However we were full of faith and confidence in our God and in what He had instructed us to do. The Lord was gracious as He blessed us with a powerful service and an attendance of 28 people.
Since our beginning we have seen the Lord continue to give a steady increase to our church spiritually and numerically for which we are so thankful. Throughout this first year, testimonies of changed lives and mindsets have continually been voiced, which confirms to us that God’s word is working in people’s lives. The message of Faith and the Gospel has been our theme throughout this year and is of no coincidence, given that this church started out by faith and will continue by faith, in God and in His word.
The vision that God has given us for Gospel of Power Church and where we want to go is great. For this, we understand, that God by His Spirit is gathering into this house people that are being trained in the word and who will therefore partner with us to help fulfil what God has commissioned us to do, that we may impact our society, city and beyond.
What God has done up until now in Gospel of Power Church has been awesome, but it is just the beginning, we are just getting started and fully understand that the best is before us.
We do not want Gospel of Power Church to just be another church on the street corner or to do the status quo. With God’s help we want to continue to be a Church where lives are saved, delivered, healed, set free and where minds are renewed by the power of the word, thus raising a people that as our church mission statement says: will “live lives that are a living testimony of what Jesus Christ can do in a person’s life even in today’s society, enjoying therefore prosperous, fulfilled and complete lives that can bless others”.
To be a church where the Holy Spirit moves with freedom, ministering to those who are in expectation for His presence. To be a word church, where the preaching of the Gospel under the anointing of the Holy Spirit is a priority.
To be a faith church that does not limit God and that if it is in His word it is so.
