1 Corinthians 14:1
The God kind of Love, is one of the most powerful fruit that you and I as believers must strive to produce in our lives.
Following, are a few powerful teachings about love in the book of 1 John.
1.God is Love (Chapter 4:7)
2. Because we are of God we are to show love to one another (Chapter 3:11)
3. We know that we have passed from death unto life because we love the brethren (Chapter 3:14)
4. Let us not love in word or tongue but in deed and truth (Chapter 3:18)
5. Every believer who loves shows that he is born of God and shows that he knows God (Chapter 4:7)
6.Those that love dwell in God and God in them (Chapter 4:16)
7. There is no fear in love, for perfect love casts out all fear ( Chapter 4:18)
In 1 Corinthians 13:1-7 we are told by the Apostle Paul in verse 1 that “though I speak with the tongues of men and angels and have not love, I am become as a sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal”. Verse 2 goes on to say: “though I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge, and though I have faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing”.
Anything that is done by the believer outside of love is of no profit to the believer. The characteristics of this God kind of love are outlined from verse 4 to verse 7. In verse 1 of chapter 14, after giving this teaching on Love the apostle Paul said “Follow after Love”.
I say to Gospel of Power Church, let’s be a people that Follow (Pursue, seek, look for) after this kind of love.
