Joshua 1:8
As believers you and I must never compromise on the authority and integrity of God’s word.
1. We must make the word of God the final authority in our lives. 2. Our lives must revolve around the word. 3. Never shut yourself out from hearing new revelation from God, that is word based. 4.We must understand that there is always something fresh and new that you can gain from the word of God.
I heard a preacher of the word say, “My mind is open to change, But it is not open to compromise. We refuse to try to change the word to fit our lifestyle. We will change our lifestyle to fit the word.” What a true and powerful statement. We must establish that in our lives, when it comes to living by the word, there must be no compromise.
We must be people that say “If God said it in His word, then, that is true and final”. No matter what is going on around me, no matter how I feel or what I see, God’s word is still true and His word never, ever varies or changes to fit into what is contrary to His word.
The word of God must be our source of truth. Our faith takes its stand on the truth of God’s word and then confesses them as true. Our feelings, because of what we are going through may waver, but ultimately if faith stands fast on the word, feelings will come into line with the truth of the word and you will have your victory. For we walk by faith not by sight. And we know according to Romans 10:17 that “Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God”. So we can say, based on that verse, that we believers walk by the word and not by sight. Thus word people are faith people.
May you and I be people of the word that refuse to compromise it under any circumstances. God bless.
