Jesus Is The Reason for The Season

We are at that time of the year where we as believers can take time to reflect on the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour.  While the world celebrates Christmas with its santa clause and commercialism and in many ways the absence of Jesus, we the church must bring to the forefront the real reason for Christmas, which is  that over 2000 years ago Jesus Christ was born of the virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Ghost, and the road to redemption was set into motion.

Many people might say, but Jesus was not born on the 25th December? That is true, He was most likely born around August or September. But still the fact that a day is set aside to honour the birth of Jesus is something to take full advantage of.

I was watching a little bit of the carols by candle night show on tv the other night, and they were singing songs that glorify Jesus, they were even singing Hymns. A Pastor was able to give a short 5minute message about Jesus to the nation of Australia. Think about that for a moment the real message of Christmas was being proclaimed on mainstream television and it is all because of the season that we are in. No other time of the year would they allow that to happen.

So, whether people receive it  for the negative or positive, the name of Jesus is being proclaimed, heard and seen.

On the other hand, we have so much effort to take away the real meaning of Christmas, for example trying to take away the word Christ from Christmas, in case someone is offended.

You and I as the church must celebrate the real reason for the season and let everybody know as the angel said in Luke 2:11 “ For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord”

“O Come let us adore Christ the King”
