Romans 10:17
In the book of Mathew 6:31 the bible says ”take no thought (to be anxious, to worry, to stress, fear, etc) saying (confessing)”. In this verse we learn that the way worry and fear is possessed in our minds is through our confession and the words that we speak. On the other hand faith comes also by the words that we speak. We are to take hold of and posses faith through the words of our mouth.
Faith comes to the believer by hearing and hearing the word of God. Many times this verse in Romans 10:17 has been interpreted that faith comes when we hear a preacher speak the word, and that is correct and right, but I think that it goes a little further than that, faith comes to you, when your ears hear you speak the word of God over your situation and over your life.
God’s word is creative power and His creative power is still in His word, waiting for us to release it through our mouth. For God’s word to be effective men must speak it and the creative power will come forth performing that which is spoken in faith. Faith comes more quickly when you hear yourself quoting, speaking and confessing the things God said in His word. You will more easily receive God’s word into your spirit by hearing yourself speak the word. I like to say that faith talk is word talk. God told Joshua in Joshua 1:8 “This book of the Law (the word) shall not depart out of your MOUTH; but you shall meditate (mutter, ponder, talk, speak) therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then YOU shall make your way prosperous and then YOU shall have good success”.
Praise the Lord.
Speak the word, 2. Meditate on the word, 3. Do the word.
I encourage you to get into the discipline of confessing the word of God over your life and family on a daily basis.
