Smith Wigglesworth

Smith Wigglesworth is known as the modern Apostle Of Faith. He was born in 1859 and became a powerful healing Evangelist in the early to mid 19th century. He saw untold miracles and at least 13 people were raised from the dead in his ministry. The secret to his ministry was “belief in the power of God’s word”.

Following are a few portions from his autobiography that reveals the secret to his ministry.

One of the main ‘secrets’ to this great man of God’s incredible healing ministry was his strength and unshakable faith.

He believed everything he read in the Bible and was not afraid to push through limits in his faith with God.

He wrote: “Fill your head and your heart with the scriptures. Memorize passages from the word, with the name of the book, the chapter and the verse so that you can quote the scripture correctly in addresses or open air meetings. As you do this, you are sowing in your heart seeds, which the Spirit of God can germinate. He can bring to your remembrance from time to time that which you have memorized. You must be soaked with the word of God, you must be filled with it, that you yourself are a living epistle, known and read of by all men.

Believers are only as strong as the word of God that abides in them. The word of God is spirit and life to those who receive it in simple faith and it is a verifier of all who own it’s way.

Know your book, live it, believe it and obey it. Hide God’s word in your heart. It will save your soul, quicken your body and illuminate your mind.

The word of God is full and final, infallible, reliable and up to date and our attitude towards it must be one of unquestioned obedience. If a thing is in the Bible it is so, it is not even to be prayed about, it must be received and acted upon”.
