2 Corinthians 5:7
There are three words each beginning with the letter F that we must put into their right order when it comes to walking by faith and not by sight.
They are facts, faith and feelings.
1. Facts: We start with the facts. The facts are found in the word of God and they never, never vary. The word fact means: Truth, and what is real. The source for our facts is the word.
2. Faith: After we have the facts, faith then takes its stand with the facts (truth) of God’s word and then confesses them as true, no matter what is happening around us.
3. Feelings: Our feelings may waver, but ultimately if faith stands fast on the word (facts), feelings must come into line with the facts.
If we start with our feelings rather than with the facts we will always end up in trouble.
Unfortunately many people start out with their feelings and allow their feelings to gain a stronghold over their lives.
The challenge for us who want to walk by faith and not by sight is to discipline ourselves to start with the facts, and find out what God says about the situation. Then having that settled, we place our faith on what He said and take our stand on that, wether we feel it or not. Then we get a hold of our feelings and align them to the word of God and trust in Him and His word, that He will do what He said He would do.
Lets stand fast in the faith walk, God bless you.
