Faith Confession

Without a shadow of a doubt the Bible makes it very clear that there is power in the words of our mouth.

Thus, as believers, we must learn the importance of speaking faith words, that the words that come out of our mouth should line up and agree with the word of God.

Speaking is the natural way that faith expresses itself. For faith to reach its full potential it must be spoken. So as believers we hear the word of God to bring faith and we hear the word of God to build up our faith, then we confess/speak the word of God to release our faith.

The word confess in the greek is “Homologeo” and it means: To say the same with our mouth as God says in His word. It is making the words of our mouth agree with the written word of God.

Sadly in many Christian circles there is a carelessness when it comes to words and giving words the importance that God’s word gives them. As a result, the major problem of many Christians is their speech. Many times this is because of ignorance or simply thinking like many Christians do, that words have no power.

As believers we must watch over our words and get into the discipline of speaking words of faith over our lives, marriage, family etc.

Job 6:24-25 says that “right words have a force behind them”, think about that, there is a force behind your words, the force will be either faith or doubt, positive or negative, worry or peace etc.

Proverbs 15:4 says, “A wholesome tongue is a tree of life”

The word wholesome in the Hebrew means: Curative, A medicine, remedy, healing, repair, and deliverance. That is what your words are capable of doing; your words are like medicine.

Start today to make faith confessions based on the word of God. And be blessed by the fruit of your mouth.
