From Sunday 12th August, Gospel Of Power Sunday Service
2 Thessalonians 1:3
Gospel of Power Church is a little over 3 months old, we praise and glorify Jesus for the blessings that we have seen and experienced.
My prayer is, for those of you that have been attending our services and already feel part of this church that you can honestly say that your “faith is growing exceedingly”.
This will be a reality in your life when you are part of a church that preaches the uncompromising word of God.
A true believer must be a person where there is genuine evidence that their faith is growing and developing as it regards to their walk with God, This kind of developing faith comes about by hearing and hearing the word of God, Romans 10:17.
This is what going to church is all about, it is about coming with purpose to praise and worship Jesus and anticipating to hear the word of God. The priority of the church should never be about how many programs we have, or to be a happy feel good club, which sadly so much of the church today has become; no, church is all about you and I growing in our faith as a result of receiving tools from God’s word, then we apply that word to our life then change and transformation happen.
The Apostle Paul wrote 2 Thessalonians 1:3, to the church of that city, ”I thank God always”, why did Paul thank God, it was for the fact that “their faith was growing exceedingly”. This was Paul’s joy and gratitude towards God that the word he had been sowing into their lives was evidently producing fruit, it was clear for all to see that their faith was growing.
The word growing exceedingly is the same in the Greek and means: To grow far above the norm, go beyond the same old same old, go into new levels etc.
My prayer is that as you continue to attend this church, your faith goes far beyond the same old same old, that as a result of hearing the word of God it may be evident to you and all those who know you that your faith is growing exceedingly. If this is the case, then that means that God is doing a great work in your life and that this church is fulfilling the purpose for which it is here.
May God bless you
